On Wednesday: Mumbai & other areas including west coast, braced for cyclone phyan are going to deepen & cross the cost between south Gujarat & North Maharashtra. An “orange alert” had been issued by Indian Meteorological Department, red alert was too introduced a sign of severe cyclone. [smartads]
The cyclone was shifted northwards over Arabian Sea, it was approximately 350 Km south-southwest of Mumbai,250 Km west-northwest & 620 Km south-southwest of Surat at 5:30am.
IMD said that” It probably strengthen & shift north-northeastwards & cross north Maharashtra & Gujarat coast between Alibagh & Valsad till late night.” & they issued the cyclone warning at 9:50 am.
Due to the heavy rainfalls, warning by Mumbai and Maharashtra disaster management departments is given regarding the flooding & lashing of many parts. The whole of North Maharashtra & Factories are advised to take special precautions. The fishermen of the areas of Kerala, Goa, Karnataka, and Gujarat, besides the Lakshadweep Islands, are asked not to go out near sea.
The expectation of IMD regarding the speed of Cyclone Phyan will be 70-80 kmph between 5:30pm and 11:30pm & can go upto 90 kmph.
Mumbai is facing the non-stop rain since monday & hence the temperature is coming down. People there are hoping that it will equal the gap by 30% which occur due to the deficit of monsoon. As the rescue measures civic authorities keep pumps for flood prone areas like Juhu, Versova, Worli, Bandra and Malad.
According to the weatherman the heavy to heavy rainfall of more then 25 cm is likely to be at Konkan and Goa and Madhya Maharashtra during next 36 hours. It is also highlighted that the chances of heavy rainfall is at costal Karnataka in next 12 hours,& from today afternoon south Gujarat could also witnessed the heavy falls.
