APEDA is launching Tracenet, a ready estimator to set up the traceability of exporting organic foods the country. Stakeholders and growers show their doubt for this Tracenet.
Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority said that Tracenet – the traceability system will be able to check rest pesticide in grape & pomegranate. It will give more returns to growers. It will provide to consumers the value for money. It will reduce the transaction cost of small growers. But they show the fear of handing over their business to corporate houses. On this Mr Asit Tripathi said that 99% growers are present in India. So there is the majority. [smartads]
Mr Asit Tripathi- the chairman of APEDA said that the launching at international level will be proposed in Feb 2010.
