Nokia 5233 has got similar specifications & details of Nokia 5230. Nokia 5233 simply just don’t have 3G transceiver. It seems like this that Nokia 5230 has got some problem, so Nokia manufactured Nokia 5233.
Nokia 5233 has got GSM/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 – no 3G. It has 3.2 inch full touch screen. The camera of Nokia 5233 is 2.0 MP Camera with Video Recording at 30fps. FM Radio is inbuilt in Nokia 5233. Alka Verma, You got it wrong. The difference is not just 3G, 5233 does not have GPS either. That is a strong point against 5233 and this misleads people. Lucky me that I did some research before buying 5233.

I got nokia 5233 yesterday, i am happy with it. It fulfills all my tech based requirements. Well it does not have gps in it. But on the other hand nokia 5230 in not available in India. Its got pretty good network based positioning. As a matter of fact it positions you within 4-5 secs . usually gps takes around 1-2 min for lock. also gps requires clear line of sight link with your handset.

1. 5230 has 3g while 5233 not.

well i’m buying 5233 because in 5230 it has 3g but it can be used only for downloading it doesnot have a front camera to make a vedio call forget about gps i think it is a waste as it can be used only for a long dive and …i dont go for a long dive every one buy 5233 because it can save 1000 from ur pocket.,.,.,.,.,.,.,,,,.,, and it also gives u two 2 extra coloured pannels which is cool different colour each day

3G is signifies third generation,is the kind of feature which allows live video calling provided both the user(who are talking each other)should have 3G featured hand set n enabled the connection.in India BSNL only provde this service at present for 30paise/min call rate.

THERE ARE BIG TWO DIFFERENCE. NOKIA 5233 HAS NO 3G .IT HAS A GPS BUT NOT A-GPS ONLY NETWORKBASE GPS WHICH IS COSTIARE.

I have a nokia5233 handset.Its battery backeup is satisfactory,comfortable to net browsing but some features has not been installed in it as like music qlty.and though it has 2mp camera, the picture and vdo.qlty also very poor compaired to nokia 3500. When a gif animated applying as wallpaper or csreensaver it does not support.Sometime when we browsig in net automatically exit the browser.

Just Bought Nokia 5233 form Spice HotSpot at Rs.6400/- (without memory card). Its a great mobile with Latest release of the Symbian S60 5th edition featuring kinetic scrolling. I have also bought and installed “SPB Mobile Shell” on top of the UI and its working like a dream, better than the HTC SENSE.
The video is at 30FTP for is smooth. The 2MP camera is better that most 3.2 one in this price range except maybe some SonyEricsson models.
I have fallen in love with my mobile with literally hundreds of apps form Ovi store.

The Nokia 5230 is a touchscreen phone with 3.2 inch screen. The mobile is 3G compliant and has got a 2 mega pixel camera. The 5230 comes with some advanced features like the accelerometer to enable auto rotation of images. Unfortunately the phone does not have wi-fi connectivity. This is not such a big issue in countries with 3G network but for India, it becomes a tricky issue and you need to be aware of it before buying the phone.
