Movie Review: Karthik Calling Karthik

KARTHIK CALLING KARTHIK is like the male version of Janki to Jane or the conversion of Ram to Rambo but with a thrilling twist.

The story revolves around Karthik , the proverbial loser who is almost lost in this cut throat ,mean ,fast world. He is unnoticed, exploited and squashed by all, until he receives a mysterious call from a caller, who also calls himself Karthik and teaches him to adapt to this competitive mundane world.

Karthik Narayan, follows the instructions and pursues to fulfill all his fantasies, like wooing the office hot babe Sonaia  Mukherjee, played by Deepika Padukone, forces his boss to acknowledge his accomplishments.[smartads]

Farhan Akhtar after Rock On, Luck By Chance and now with KARTHIK CALLING KARTHIK, is a revelation as an actor.He has depicted the role of a drab worker, loser in life with a miserable love life to the tee.

Deepika Padukone who plays a sexy , savvy Sonia Mukherjee pitches her role meticulously and with an innate ease but one craves for some more of her bubbly character.

Ram Kapoor and Shefali Shah too support the protagonist well.

Vijay Lalwani’s filma is watchable but  stumbles at the climax.

The music by Shankar, Ehsaan, Loy is  already a rage .Audiences can’t  get enough of ‘Ufff Teri Adaa’  and could make the flick a box office hit.
