These are indeed Soviet era ICBM launch keys; I know because I am the person that first acquired and sold them on e-bay. The so called expert on television was a curator of a small museum and had never seen ICBM launch keys before; how could he, no one had ever acquired any before or since.
I was friends with the Russian general that got them; he brought them to me personally and presented them to me at my home.
What you see on television is not always the truth; this time the expert was incorrect.
