Mississippi School not allowing a Lesbian Couple to Enter a Prom Causes Furor

The Constance McMillen’s First Amendment Right to Freedom of expression was evoked against Mississippi High School as it cancelled a prom rather than allowing a lesbian couple to take part in it.

ACLU and other schools coalition had issued a letter demanding the high school to reverse there decision but they were in no mood to listen. The lesbian couple were threatened to be thrown out if found in the event. The legal director of ACLU said in a statement that the issue had heightened to another level altogether. [smartads]

ACLU in its complaint has asked the prom to be held again and the first amendment be evoked. They said that they’ll fight till the end till this issue gets sorted out favorably. ACLU is going to insist that McMillen be allowed to go in the prom with her girlfriend.
