Jairam Ramesh, the Environment Minister, said for resignation due to his controversial notes against Home Ministry for charges of stalling some Chinese import but Manmohan Singh has turned it down, sources told today.

Union Minister Jairam Ramesh had said to resign on Monday night after he had allegedly said that the Home Ministry and the security concern were being “alarmist and paranoid” when it came to Chinese groups wanting to do trade in our country, lifting a storm.

Sources said minister’s offer has been turned down by the PM Manmohan Singh.

Robustly disapproving of his notes, PM and the Congress had warning him even as the BJP had demanded act against him for the “highly objectionable” remarks.
