Cyclone Laila Approaches Forward From AP Coast to Bapatla

The intense cyclone storm Laila approached forward from the Andhra Pradesh coast close to Bapatla in Guntur district in the afternoon hours on Thursday. Authorities told huge storm surge were visible in the Bengal-Bay when the cyclone strike the coast about 50 km from Bapatla town. Harsh winds with a speed of 125 km/h wrought terrible near and far the coast as Laila approaches forward from the coast after transforms its duration repeatedly during the previous 3 days.

Storm blowing with a velocity of 1.5 to 2 meters flooded the rural areas along the coast. Information over the loss due to cyclone ‘Laila’ is awaited.

As per Visakhapatnam Cyclone Warning Centre, the cyclone would lessen after crossing the coast. However, centre predicts intense rain-showers across coastal Andhra & some parts of Rayalaseema & Telangana districts during the upcoming 36 hrs.

Intense rain-showers & brutal winds were influencing badly on road & railway means of transport. Cyclone Laila too crossed Andhra Pradesh and approached forward towards Bapatla in Guntur district.
