Laila Cyclone: Rain-Relief Time in North Tamil Nadu

CHENNAI, 20th May 20: Harsh rain hit coastal districts of North Tamil Nadu, moving forward under the impact of ‘Laila’ cyclone, had a period today with the showers reduction. As per the authorities, the unseasonable intense rains that disturbed common life out of control in the state had alleged the lives of 2 persons.

Fishermen were suggested to leave coastal areas & came back to their homes. However, they did not take risk into the sea which was coarse. In Chennai, general traffic was regulated on all major passages later rain water receded. However, low lying regions left water-logged. The city had 10 cm rainfalls in the last 24 hours, finishing 8:30am today.

The meteorological office told ‘Laila’ was revealing signs of declining and has turned towards Andhra coast.
