The big budget mega film, ’3 Idiots’ ruled the award function bagging eight awards. The 11th International Indian Academy Award (IIFA) function took place in Colombo, Sri Lanka, and was attended by most of the big names in the Bollywood industry.

Though the legend Aamir Khan was not present in the function, but no one could hide the good works of the super- star, and his film bagged a total of eight awards, including the Best Film, the Best Director and the Best Story awards. But, Aamir Khan lost the award of Best Actor, which was taken by Amitabh Bachchan for ‘Paa’.

Kareena Kapoor shared the best actress award for Rajkumar Hirani’s ’3 Idiots’ with the girl playing a tough mother’s role in ‘Paa’, Vidya Balan. While receiving the award, Vidya talked about the toughness she needed to show to work as a mother in front of the all time great, Amitabh Bachchan.

Sharman Joshi won the award of Best Supporting Actor for his performance as a college boy in ’3 Idiots’.

Omi Vidya, won the Best Debutant Award for ’3 Idiots’. He played the role of ‘Chatur Mahalingam’ in ’3 Idiots’.

In the mean time, Aamir Khan denied the rumors that he was showing will to work for hosting ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’. Rather, she cleared all the airs and told that he is going to devote all his energy and time till 2011 for his three home productions, ‘Peepli Live’, ‘Delhi Belly’ and ‘Dhobi Ghaat’. The three films are in production since a long time, and the perfectionist wanted to complete them fully, before committing to any other project.
