Omkar Das Manikpuri, the protagonist, who plays the lead in Peepli [Live], made the perfectionist, Amir Khan, move out of the role to let the perfect choice be selected. That is, Raghuvir.
The debutant director, Anusha Rizvi, has done fabulous work in the movie. She auditioned the lead character of the Amir produced movie, Peepli [Live], and Omkar Das Manikpuri was selected for the role because he sat so perfect for the role that even the Superstar, Amir, had to step aside for him. Yadav is a newcomer when it comes to playing the lead.
He played one of the characters in Lagaan as a villager. But he never occupied the whole screen as the main charcter.
“Aamirji and Anushaji (director) saw my audition and he told me, ‘Omkarji I was planning to play Natha but I am very impressed with your audition. Only you can play Natha’. It was the happiest day of my life,” said the newcomer.
Manikpuri, is a 40 year old who belongs to Bridanagar Village of Chhattisgarh. He was discovered for the first time after he performed in some small theater of a nearby village.
His family is very happy with his success. He is a father to three kids and has a wife. All the folks from his village are very excited about the release of his first movie, Peepli [Live].
