There is news that Saif Ali Khan has opted out of the sequel of the smash hit flick Race and Abhishek Bachchan will probably move in to replace him. Race was directed by the famous duo Abbas Mustan and was a runaway success starring big names like Katrina Kaif, Bipasha Basu, Anil Kapoor, Akshay Khanna and Sameera Reddy. Bipasha Basu and Katrina Kaif were already missing from the scenes of Race 2 and now it may also be hampered by the absence of Saif Ali Khan.

Meanwhile, it is being conjectured that junior Bachchan will walk in the shoes of Saif Ali Khan and try to be as flamboyant in his style as is demanded by the character. Khan reportedly left the venture for he was extremely occupied with his home production Agent Vinod, which has his girlfriend Kareena Kapoor in the lead. So, his decision seems really justified. But there are rumors of sparks flying on the sets of the sequel as it may star Kareena Kapoor and her old rival Priyanka Chopra.

Race 2 is still in an amateur phase and Abhishek seems a viable option but nothing can be confirmed unless any official announcement is made. The filmmakers will surely try to keep the glamorous quotient of the movie as high as the first one.

Saif has decided to move out of the movie at an appropriate time when the film is still in its preliminary stages and the producers have sufficient time to rope in somebody in place of him.
