The story of the movie Khichdi is narrated by two intelligent kids in the reckless family of Parekhs. The movie revolves around the story of a few bird brained yet lovable people and their even more brainless dream. Hansa’s brother Himanshu has an idiotic ambition to make an unforgettable and known love story for himself. Although neither is he in love with any girl nor there is any chances that any sensible girl will fall in love with him. But as said by Babuji “for every idiotic Praful there is an even more idiotic Hansa made” and his prediction definitely turn out to be true.

One fine day Parminder, Himanshu’s neighbor falls in love with him without any valid or rational reason and these two get engaged very soon to get married. And that’s exactly when the humorous story line takes an even more humorous turn. On the day of the wedding Himanshu realizes that the marriage is the end of his dream of having a memorable love story as nothing special ever happened in his case. His love story had been a normal love story where two people meet, fall in love, get married and then stay happily ever after for the rest of their lives without any hindrances. But that’s exactly what Himanshu never wanted. And so all the dumb witted members of the Parekh family put the impending wedding on hold and set out on a hilarious mission to put all the missing stages in Himanshu’s love story to make it as memorable and unforgettable as possible. And how they make a complete chaos around themselves and how in the end our very own Himanshu manages to get back his beloved Parminder creates the hilarious climax of the movie.
