A K Walia, Delhi’s Finance Minister started presenting the all important Delhi Budget 2010-11 keeping the Commonwealth games in mind. He told that the GSDP is 10 percent which should be sufficient enough for the economic growth. Walia promised moving towards a vision of making Delhi a global capital and was in the quest of fulfilling the promise.

Chennai, 19th March 2010: On Friday March 19, the Finance Minister K.Anbazhagan announced the Tamil Nadu State Budget 2010 in the new Assembly-Secretariat Complex. No new taxes have been declared in the Tamil Nadu Budget which has the deficit of Rs. 3,396.45 crore. This Budget is the fourth budget of the DMK government, the minister declared decrement in taxes on a variety of articles used by the common people.

For the scheduled castes sub-plans the Tamil Nadu Budget 2010 also proposed increment in the allocations to Rs. 3,828 crore from Rs. 567 crore. Of the total plan activation the Budget is accounted for the nineteen percent. On Women’s Welfare through assistance, the allocation for ‘Moovalar Ramamirtham Ammaiyar Memorial Assistance’ has been increased from Rs. 20,000 to Rs. 25,000.

Budget Impact
Announcements of Budget are supposed to have a great impact. On the whole the impact on cars, two-wheelers & tractors, is positive whereas there is the negative impact on commercial vehicles. The decrease in direct taxes is likely to increase the requirement for passenger cars. Increase in disposable income is expected to equalize the projected hike in car’s cost.

On Friday the finance minister Pranab Mukherjee revised the tax slab of the budget 2010 to give relief to middle class citizens.
“The plan to cut the income tax slab will be 60% beneficial for all tax payers,” finance minister said and he wants to hike the MAT (min alternate tax) to 18% of book profits from the current 15%.

Presenting the budget 2010 for India, Pranab Mukherjee had to balance the fiscal deficit without jeopardizing growth.
