Diwali
The day before Diwali Festival is celebrated as Chhoti Diwali or small Diwali. It is Diwali on a minor scale, with some lights lit & some crackers burst. The sunrise after Choti Diwali, the ladies of the home create beautiful, colored rangoli in the entryway & courtyard. Small footprints made out of rice insert are a unique feature of the colored rangolis made for Diwali. In Hindu houses, Chhoti Diwali revels engross a ritual puja to deity Rama and also to Goddess Lakshmi in the evening. Songs in respect of the god are sung & aarti is performed.[smartads]
